For almost a thousand days now, the Pasty Cam has brought you glimpses of life in the U.P. Sometimes we're a little late in the day, as in this update, just moments before midnight, but we've not missed a day since 2/28/98.

The reason for the photo finish, coming down to the wire for today's Cam: a snow storm, which delayed your webmaster's return. The Phoenix Church is seen here as it was before about another foot descended on the Copper Country.

Have a good week, and stay with us as we count down to day 1,000 - which I believe will be this week on Thanksgiving Day.

Hello to everyone back there in the Copper Country! Does anybody know the total snowfall for the year? I've been at sea for a few weeks and REALLY miss the snow, it looks beautiful.
Way to go Pasty Central, your views of the Copper Country keep me going through these long stretches away from home:)

Hi,
How does one get permission to make an embroidery using a picture from Pasty Cam as the inspiration?

Feel free to use any photo any time as a pattern. ...and how about sending us a picture of the finished product?

This is a beautiful shot. Who said all the pretty churches were in New England? Let people keep on thinking that so they don't overload the U.P. Happy Thanksgiving everyone...

This looks like a Christmas Card. Exceptional photography every day. Thanks.

By the way, I think we may have had snow in California before you did in the UP this year...but don't ask for facts and figures. It seems to me I remember it being reported on TV weather that there was snow in the ski areas a couple of weeks ago.

Charlie, thank you for this beautiful picture of the Phoenix Church. I have many beautiful
memories of that church from many years ago. Your PastyCams have brightened up days for so many of us. Plus, the e-mail notes have really broadened
our worlds! Thanks, Charlie.

Hi, all. The pictures get better all the time. As beautiful as the snow is, it reminds us why we are in Florida for the winter! Thanks for the glimpses of home, a whole world away.

Your website is wonderful. I have never had the
opportunity to visit your part of the world (yet)
but the photos you show are so very beautiful...
and in the case of the water "volcanoes", natural wonders I did not even know existed.
Thanks from an ignorant "lower Michigander".

Charlie,I know how to send e mail with attachments but couldn't do it in the Add a Message Box. What is the e mail address I would send a picture to?

Just figured it out. I'm not too slow.

You should have a photographer check out the Phoenix Church now after dark. The Church is all decorated with Christmas lights, and all the trees on their property are decorated in colored lights also. It would be a "chalenging" shot, but well worth it for the Pasty Cam.

where is the Phoenix church? I had a dream that I went back to church and my son was there (he died two years ago)...I went outside and there was a sign that said Phoenix church and thats why I went on-line to see if there was such a church?
