Our thanks to Taka in Houghton for today's display of Old Glory against the blue U.P. sky. The Rotary sign may help you identify the steeple.

We salute all of our regular visitors to the Pasty Cam, with special thanks to those who send photos, giving us a better perspective of the Upper Peninsula. I received this interesting note and picture in my emailbox late last night:
Charlie-

Couldn't resist showing you what we woke up to this morning (6/13/01) at our home in Paradise Valley, Montana. This was at 0700, and it has been snowing all day; power out most of the day as well.

Can't wait to enjoy the more tropical clime of our home in White Pine....

What in Heaven's name is going on with Montana's weather?!?

By Ernie L., U.P.Mich. on Thursday, June 14, 2001 - 01:29 pm:

What make's yesterday's snowfall in MT even more incredible, is the fact it is near 90 deg today here in the U.P. I thought WE were the snow capitol!

I'm in Salt Lake and although we're not as bad as Montana, for the last 2 days we've had rain, sleet, and yes, SNOW. Wierd.

I was out of town last week and was just scrolling through last week's shots. It was great to see all the nice comments directed towards the Northwoods Conservancy and Seven Mile Point. I hope everyone has put some $$$ where their thoughts and hearts are ..... every $1, $5, and $10 donation adds up; don't hold back just because you think it's a piddly amount -- it's NOT!! (And no, I don't work for the conservancy -- just love my "homeland" and want to keep it for future generations!)

I put my flag up everyday and am thankful for the great country we have inherited. Its typical that there was no interest in the Flag Day photo, indicates how complacent everyone has become, interest seems to be only in $$ and being politically correct.

I think it's a beautiful picture.

Just want to say "Thank You!" to all our veterans.
May God continue to bless America.

No takers on the where is the steeple. I'm sure I've seen it, but can't place it. I give-where is it?

I understand what you are saying,Roger J. I was in Park City,Utah on Wednesday for my grand daughters graduation and the ceremony had to be moved from the football stadium to indoors because of snow.
