Here in the land of pasties, everywhere we look is a feast for the eyes, a story to tell. How in the world do these cedars grow right out of the rocks?

Anybody ever walk these shores? And is it bubbles or floating fluff?

I vote for the fluff. dandelion snow was abundant this past week.

I vote for bubbles....many water falls are found on the Black River before it enters Lake Superior. It always looks a little like root beer before it gets to the lake.

Where is the Black River? When I first saw this picture, I thought it was taken on the "island" in Marquette.

There may be some fluff/stuff on the surface but to me most of the objects appear to be pebbles on the bottom of a clear water stream and with a 150% magnification of the lower portion of the photo makes it appear even more so to be pebbles. But it's still a beautiful photo as usual.

The Black River is in western Gogebic County of the Upper Peninsula. It is not a shallow river--the steep bank helps show this.
