Isn't there another Gichee Gummee over by Ontonagon somewhere?

By the banks of the mighty Ontonagon river stands the buildings of Gitchee Gummee oil company.

That's right, Steve, and it appeared on the Pasty Cam a couple of years ago. Of course, the camp in Eagle river frequently pops up, with a host of pasty lovers.

The RV Camp is on the road between Harvey and Munising, if I'm not mistaken. I'm not certain just how far down the road it is since it's been a long long time since I've left the Copper Country.

I have camped at this campground and loved it!! Right on the lake and nice and quiet!

Gitchee Gumee Oil Company in Ontonagon is for sale the last time I checked. Could be a great opportunity for somebody from California!

Will be heading up to Christmas Mi. on Sunday staying a week at the Yule Log Resort. While there we probably will pass this park a few times going back and forth to Marquette. Stayed at the park three years ago with the fifth wheel. Very nice park, good location and great view of the lake.

Have stayed at Ranger Jeff's RV Park. It is very interesting and so is he! If you get a chance, strike up a conversation with him.

We stayed here on a four-year tour of the US during the early 90's and found it to be one of our favorite campgrounds. I loved that Ranger Jeff built the park and he and a friend were inscribing the poem 'Hiawatha'on rocks around the park. (One of my favorite poems.) We loved also Mrs. Fudge's (Mrs. Jeff) Fudge Shop. Wonderful fudge. We still talk of returning one day! I would recommend this park to anyone.
