Copper Harbor Webcam

By
Charlie at Pasty Central on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 06:54 am:

We've had a few balmy days this week here in the U.P. The color has quickly appeared and probably will peak by this weekend. In her new guest album, Sharon Smith focuses on the color beyond the trees, including the first shot above. The second came from the 'almost-live' cam this morning, a peek at the moon over the Lake which we also enjoyed here in Eagle River.

Just Beautiful!

We've been MOONED by the webcam.

I can't wait to be up this weekend and see the full moon shining across Keweenaw Bay!

By Kathleen / Minnesota on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 09:02 am:

I can't tell you how much I enjoy this website. I don't remember how I found it, but I log on every morning to see the new pictures that are posted. I have the nicest "wallpaper" on my computer than anyone else at my workplace! Thank you!!!!

By SharonS on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 09:38 am:

Oh, I shot the moon again!! Thanks for catching it, Charlie, it would have been tonight before I saw it. And here, last evening I was moaning because I don't face east and couldn't capture the beatuiful moonrise over Keweenaw Point. We do certainly live in God's favored country!

By Petie, MI on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 09:47 am:

What a stunning shot! Sharon Smith has captured another beautiful Keweenaw scene.

By Peg Hardt, Green Bay, WI on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 10:02 am:

Absolutely stunning! I'm going to keep one on my desk top in the morning and change to the moon shot later in the day. I see the last WOW was the week of August 31. Has this site been discontinued?

By anon on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 10:27 am:

Please say a prayer for and keep in your thoughts the boys involved and the families of the boys lost in the boating acident on Otter Lake on Sunday morning. The funeral ceremony for the two who were lost is today.

WOW on the Photo!

By Jolene, Chassell on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 12:54 pm:

I just returned from the funeral of a very dear friend, Brian Moore, who died Monday, October 6, 2003, after a two-year battle with brain cancer. Upon seeing these pictures I know he's going to enjoy many such beautiful scenes from above them, which will be even more beautiful than as we see them here.

By R Somero CA on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 12:59 pm:

Sounds like our timing is good-will be up there Friday. San Jose is still warm and dry, but can't wait to see the colors again this year. Fall is the best season of all.

By Sarah, St. Clair Shores, MI on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 01:19 pm:

A truly gorgeous shot! Thanks, Sharon!

By Cindy, St. Clair Shores, MI on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 02:07 pm:

Beautiful picture! I'd give anything to be up there right now. Thanks, Sharon.

By Missin the UP from NJ on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 02:49 pm:

Prayers to all who are enduring such sadness. Hopefully, the quiet beauty of the pictures on this site are a comfort. They bring me as close to heaven as I think I can get on earth, without actually moving back to the UP.

Now, I think it may be time to publish a coffee table book with some of the photos here. It would have to be Volume 1, of course, cause there are sooooo many beautiful pictures.

By Helen, Michigan on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 03:47 pm:

That is a beautiful shot Sharon, I just love it. Keep the great pictures coming!!

Four youg fellas in a boat duck hunting (?) or fishing. The boat capsized, two made it to shore but two didn't. A 15 and a 17 year old. There were life preservers in the boat, but they weren't wearing any. So sad.

By pete, illinois on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 09:31 pm:

steve, wisc. two boys from the area drowned while fishing, a few days ago. teenagers. don't know any details.

By Tammy H, Oregon on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 09:36 pm:

By Toivo in Green Bay on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 10:30 pm:

Almost home. Long flight, good to make it here to the Super 8. Used up all of my free ticket vouchers. Will snag a ride with an old friend from Appleton tomorrow to get back up to the Copper Country.

Had a great time in New Zealand and Australia. Just missed the U.P. too much. Sorry for not making it to Hawaii. Your T-shirt will have to wait, Alex. I have to see the leaves and make some wood before it snows.

By nancy Erkkila Sanderson on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 10:37 pm:

Great photo. Love the pictures that everyone shares. Keep up the nice work and keep the memories coming.

By Rachel in Little Betsy on Thursday, October 9, 2003 - 11:41 pm:

Toivo, I've really enjoyed following your travels. Glad you're almost home safe and snug.
