Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Thursday, July 31, 2014 - 07:13 am:

Another month has flown by in a flash, taking us to the last day of July. It's time for us here at Pasty Central to pause and remember those that have gone on before us, including:

William Darnell, Sr.
Candy Jones
Walter Laverdiere
Dona Marie Schneiderhan
Fred Norman "Ted" Sharpe
Louise Siira
Dorothy Vairo
Servicemen and women who have given their all

We extend our deepest sympathy to all those who have lost someone recently. In our long standing tradition of remembering our loved ones and friends, we invite you to add the names of those you'd like to recall here on these pages, too.

Special thanks to Brenda Leigh for the beautiful sunset to remember our loved ones and friends, including her special friend Ted.

We conclude with this epitaph that was written on a tombstone in Ireland, dated 1889:

"Death leaves a heartache difficult to heal;
Love leaves sweet memories no one can steal."

What a beautiful and touching epitaph, Mary!
Am so grateful for the memories of my loved ones ~ the love of my life, Frank, my Mama and my Daddy and my sister, Marjorie. And sadly today I have another to add to the list ~ our sweet little kitty, "Tippy", who went to the "rainbow bridge" last Friday. So thankful that God put them into my life!

One of my brothers-in-law...Jim "Leroy" Moore. The eldest of ten. Now there are 5 left. Oh how the years slide by. He was one of the earliest to welcome me into a large loving family. RIP Leroy.

He was the best cat ever!!

Through Heaven’s Door

Here i am in Heaven
And I see you every day
I know that you miss me
At work or at play
I know how you need me
But the Lord needed me more
Joy is all around me
As I walk through Heaven’s door
Keep in mind my friends
I’m never too far away
I’m always in your hearts
And just a prayer away

Remembering my wonderful aunt, Alice Perttunen, who passed away on July 8 and will be buried on August 2. Her and my uncle, who passed away in April 2013, had a huge influence on my life and I miss them so very much. Also missing my Aunt, Faye Garlow, who passed away in September 2013. We were closer than aunt/niece, more like sisters. Their loss will never be forgotten and our hearts will always have an empty spot.

By Dunerat (Dunerat) on Thursday, July 31, 2014 - 10:41 pm:

Dean, our prayers are with you and your whole family. May God's peace surround you all.

By Kate Plemel (Kmplemel) on Friday, August 1, 2014 - 10:36 am:

My cousin, Bill Disjardin. Gone too young. He was dealt a rotten hand in this life. Here's hoping the next one is beautiful.

By D. A. (Midwested) on Friday, August 1, 2014 - 12:22 pm:

I know its not May, but it's barely been a year
since I lost Kellie, my wife of 28 years.

It was this week that they finally got her headstone
moved into the correct position. It's a dual
headstone with my name on it as well, yet they
centered it over her grave. I thought our son was
going to have to get one of those giant foam fingers
and put it on a stick with a sign that said, "Don's
over here."

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Friday, August 1, 2014 - 01:55 pm:

I sympathize with you, D.A. It was in May 2011 when I lost my love, Frank. But we were blessed with almost 57 years together.
As Dean often quotes: "If we speak their names, they will not be forgotten."

By Brenda Leigh (Brownmoose) on Monday, August 4, 2014 - 08:21 am:

My dear friend "Ted" lived to be 100 and three
months old. HE WAS THE MOST AMAZING HUMAN BEING I
HAVE EVER KNOWN. He was a man of simple needs. He
had so many friends and ALWAYS had time for them.
Words from a song written by Seth Bernard...Old
friend, it's so hard to say goodbye. So I'll just
say you made me so happy. Old friend, this world was
made for you and it's more real now that you've
passed through. You lived a long life and passed so
graciously. I'm still here now and I've got your
name with me.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, August 4, 2014 - 08:24 am:

Beautiful, Brenda. So sorry about your friend's
passing :-(
