When Christina LaVergne heads out in the Lake Linden-Hubbell School Forest for an adventure, she's on the lookout for interesting scenes along the way. So when she came upon this snowy overhang on the tree branch, she immediately saw the forest smiling at her and had to snap a picture to share with us all. You never know what shape or form the snowy clumps will take and they transform with the changing weather, besides.

The second two smiling faces come to us from Rob Wetton, taken in his own backyard after a recent heavy snowfall. How fun that the snow gathered on the facial features of the trees, making them look more like abominable treemen. They are smiling, though, so maybe not so much unpleasant and more like something that puts a smile on your face when they greet you each day.

Here's hoping that Christina and Rob's smiling faces will help you start your day with a grin, too!

The trees look happy and they don't look like apple trees, should be safe to walk among them unlike Dorothy's trip to see The Oz!

Janie, your mind was working in the same frame as mine....my first thought was "The Wizard of Oz" forest.
Thanks Christina, Rob, and Mary....I needed a grin this morning. Had a 'fender-bender' episode yesterday...the first in 62 years of driving.:(

Strange sights indeed!

That's funny, Shirley, cuz that was my first thought too. I saw apples being thrown at Dorothy, lol!!

Very cool pictures!

Shirlohio--Tough luck. I recently had my first in 67 years. Nice thing is that our age everyone "knows" we aren't bad drivers---just a little confused. No anger, just pity!!!!

Just look at all the snow! Great pics people!!We have to get out and enjoy our winters or they get too long!

Shirlohio--Told you I was "just a little confused" when I left out the word "at".

Shirley, forgot to say that I hope nothing serious happened with your fender bender. Hope you and your car are a-okay!!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, March 9, 2013 - 01:04 pm:

LOL! Richard.;)
Deb, no serious damage to my car...just my pride. No more 'bragging rights'.:(
Meant to mention earlier...that last photo (minus the snow-capped face) looks like it did around my house for a couple of days, but it's melting fast today!
