Good morning. Windy all night with heavy rains.

By Pat & Glenda (Gormfrog) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 08:00 am:

As our industrialized society rushes towards globalization, depersonalization, or some kind of unpredictable collapse, we need the yearly respite that GROUNDHOG DAY provides.

By Steve Haagen (Radsrh) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 08:01 am:

Good morning

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 08:04 am:

Good Wednesday morning from the more tolerable tropics after a passing cold front last night.

By Diana P. (Diana) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 08:36 am:

Gormfrog ... I agree with you about Groundhog Day! ;-)

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 09:13 am:

30 degrees and a pretty but wet heavy snow falling. 5-7 inches expected here in Linn County, Iowa.

By Bob Williams (Wabbit) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 11:18 am:

Looks like those snowshoes are going up in flames!

Capt. Paul, saw your first post this morning regarding Gormfrog's post regarding Groundhog Day. For some unknown reason, it was edited. The reason why Groundhog day is so important UP here is for a lot of reasons.

Nice UP day today here in Ontonagon, getting lots of snow!

I posted this yesterday also...but obviously nobody has read it...

I am looking for information on coal being unloaded by boat in the Dollar Bay or Lake Linden areas. I am trying to find information on this but haven't even come across anyone who can tell me anything. Please help.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 06:28 pm:

Danielle, maybe you should ask that on the Boatnerd Information page. There's usually always someone on there who knows the answers. Very informative site.

Waveaction, that's an interesting article...never knew that about the days getting longer on Feb. 2nd.

By Danielle L. Adams (Badkid) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 07:10 pm:

I have actually asked a few times before but still no replies. I guess I will keep trying.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 07:46 pm:

Good luck! Hope somebody comes up with an answer.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 07:48 pm:

I read your post Danielle and have been looking for you, but that ugly thing called work keeps getting in the way. I'll try to have some answers for you by next week when I'm there. ;-)

By Danielle L. Adams (Badkid) on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 08:11 pm:

Sounds good Capt. I should be around considering I haven't been working too much. Maybe I will see ya round town???
