I love riding through the Skanee area and especially Witz Marina at sunset! I have lots of pictures of those sunsets and the little camp store there with the interesting facade.

Good Morning. I love the photos of the leaf blankets this morning!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 08:23 am:

Congratulations, Janie and Dunerat!
Everyone, have a great day!

By Diana P. (Diana) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 08:35 am:

I like the colorful leaf blanket photos also, especially when the leaves don't need to be raked, and can just be enjoyed. Our leaf blanket is in piles out by the street waiting for pickup by our village.

I love the 2006 picture. Congrats to Janie and Dunerat.

I also love seeing all the leaves. It makes me think of home.

Where is the Salt River??

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 09:42 am:

Love the 2010 picture and the purple finch.

By Eugene Zuverink (Zube) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 10:16 am:

It's in Soo Salt Marie Deb

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 10:18 am:

Thanks, Gene. No wonder I hadn't heard about it. It looks so cozy in there, doesn't it?

By Eugene Zuverink (Zube) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 10:40 am:

Really Deb, the Salt river is in the Detroit area.
It empties into Anchor Bay of Lake Saint Clair.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 02:47 pm:

Thanks Deb & Shirley for the congrats! I'm going to try for that early bird next week and serve it for Thanksgiving!

By Diana P. (Diana) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 03:29 pm:

If I am interpreting this correctly, on the Cam Notes page from November 12, 2010, the photographer, David Roberts, identifies the river which he originally labeled "Salt River" as properly being the "Sand River", near Munising.

I was curious because usually these photos are all from the UP. :-)

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 04:09 pm:

Okay, Janie, but be sure and set some extra places at the table.:9

By Waveaction (Lakelover) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 04:44 pm:

It's snowing in Ontonagon, only got a light dusting. Three feet, just kidding.

Busy UP here, the hunters are getting ready for shotgun season for deer. It's been such a mild winter that there is an abundance of deer.

It is more humane to hunt the deer than to let them starve, get eaten by wolves and suffer during the winter.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 04:50 pm:

Deer pepper sticks and jerky...yes!!!!!

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 07:38 pm:

Thanks Diana, i didn't think to go back to the info
on the picture, but it sure looked like Sand River!
Having covered that territory dozens of times...

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 09:56 pm:

So UC, when do you head out for deer camp?

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 09:56 pm:

Just made it to Calumet, Marty arrives tomorrow evening. Saw 3 snowmobiles wipping down 6th street tonight, looked like they were having fun. The road was totally covered and packed with snow.

Little bit of work tomorrow and a conf. call then it's time to relax,KEWEENAW STYLE!

Mary, need anything for your adult foster care?

It's tough being in the Keweenaw, :=))

Good Night Copper Country!

UC

Mary says: Not that I can think of, Uncle Chuck...thank you. Hope you have a great time UP here. Let me know if YOU need anything! :-)

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Monday, November 12, 2012 - 10:03 pm:
