Brrrrr, 44!! I believe we're all the way up to 49, lol!!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 09:54 am:

I wish it would get down to 49 here; we'll be lucky to see a low like that all this winter.... K

By sometimesyooper (Nancyd) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 10:38 am:

38 at dawn in Evergreen, CO but the temp is quickly going up and it's going to be a beautiful day.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 10:38 am:

Hey, Capt. Paul, I'll trade temps with you any day!
I hear you about pain, Deb, it's my constant companion (osteoarthritis)...and the cold doesn't help.:( Hope you heal quickly!!

By Dr. Nat (Drnat) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 10:56 am:

I miss cool autumn mornings and cold winter days. I miss seasons. I miss the friendly people of the U.P. Does anyone need a geology professor up there?

By DEAN SCHWARTZ SR. (Lulu) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 10:59 am:

"Good Morning" Finally a Saturday off from work. Looked out a seen that I had a tire on my car that went flat last night. Had to buy a new tire. Hope everyone has a super weekend, had the window's open and had a very good night for sleeping, it got down it the 50's.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 11:09 am:

I agree with you Dr. Nat!! Love my 4 seasons!! Each one is so special with it's own beauty. Change is good!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 11:41 am:

I agree with the 4 seasons, if only it didn't get so doggone cold out here. Love to see the snowflakes coming down and how it covers the ground. It has a beauty all its own. I just prefer the other 3 seasons, lol.

1998...what a view!!!

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 02:57 pm:

After seeing the picture for 2007, i went back to
that day's discussion. Just knew that there would
be an interesting explanation of the rock formations
there. And...........nothing!

We need a geology professor up here!!

By Dr. Nat (Drnat) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 03:23 pm:

In response to the question about the 2007 photo:
Piers Gorge is a place where you can see the Niagara Fault Zone, which developed about 1.8 billion years ago when the Penokean Mountains were formed. The rocks there began as volcanic rocks, but were tilted and metamorphosed into schists when those mountains were built.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 05:54 pm:

Personally, I like the 2011 photos..... ;-)

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 07:29 pm:

2011, 2011.... those names sound so familar. Who
could they be? Who could they be?

Thanks for the info, Dr. Nat! And we still need a
geology professor up here!!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 08:58 pm:

Dr. Nat…yeah, we need a rich geology professor in the UP.
When your book hits #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list and you make your first billion, you can build a commune in the UP where we can all hang out. And Capt. can show us how to grow peyote, for medicinal purposes of course. I hear it's great for sore knees :-)

By Dr. Nat (Drnat) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 09:19 pm:

When my book becomes a best seller and I become a billionaire-philanthropist-geologist I will build a grand mead hall in the Keewenaw where we can spend the rest of our days eating, drinking, and being merry! And learning about geology, of course.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 09:31 pm:

Sore knees??? I'm in!!!!

By miningandlogging (Pinetreegirl) on Sunday, September 16, 2012 - 04:27 pm:

Do you really want to try Peyote? Then, you must have all been at Woodstock. :)
