As you probably know, virtually all of the snow has disappeared early in the U.P. this year. Today's review shows there is almost always some on the ground (usually lots) on March 21. Which year's photo has none?

No years on March 21st...2010 looks like it was taken in the summer. Look at all the leaves on the trees.

2010! Way to go Janie!

These pictures are so good today! The Gay to Lac La Belle drive is my 2nd favorite drive UP there. The first being Eagle River to Copper Harbor!! You just don't know how beautiful that drive is until you move and don't get to see it whenever you want to.

Have a great day!

In the 2000 picture, Gay to LacLabelle, what mountain is in the picture? (To early to get the spelling correct)

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 - 08:51 am:

Mickill, I do believe that is Mt. Houghton.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 - 09:56 am:

Good Morning. Nice photos today. I especially love the Bridge Moon, the K-9 Patrol, and the Gay to Lac Labelle ones today!

I second that UC. Mt Houghton and Bare Bluff in front of it, sort of masked by the tree in the foreground.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 - 12:30 pm:

Thank You, UC and Bob.

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 - 02:13 pm:

Mickill, Bob is correct, Hard to see Bare Bluff because of the tree. In that area is the best boating I've ever done, Superior is so beautiful and clear right there. We scattered my dad's ashes in a 100 ft. of water in front of Bare Bluff. It's a nice ride passed the mouth of the Montreal, Keystone Bay, Manitou Island, High Rock Bay, all the way to Copper Harbor. My brother-inlaw Charlie, and my brother Mike and I, once made the trip all the way around from Lac La Belle, passed the point, CH, and Eagle Harbor into the canel in Houghton, passed Big Trav. and Gay then by L.B. and back to Lac La Belle, It took all day, It sure was a great time. Oh well, back to work.

Glad to hear from you again UC. Miss your UP stories. Bet you do too. :(

Been hearing the spring peepers for the last 5 days;

Hope it doesn't freeze, which it will. Walked the beach again, during a light drizzle. Light is the keyword, we, in Ontonagon are under a high risk fire watch, need rain bad.

Yooper Joe had another good day. He loves that Big Lake. We do too.

Thank You, and for the tour UC. :O)
