One could imagine no finer life........ 
 than arising early in the morning on GROUNDHOG DAY 
       and walking all day, and then forever, 
              towards an unknown goal.  Our opportunity is near.

Funny, Capt!! We were both there at 8:00, along with Gormfrog, and now we have a 3 way tie for 8:01. That made me laugh:)

OOPSY!! There have since been 2 more added, making it a 5 way tie! Amazing!

Good Morning. One good thing about our warmer than usual temperatures this winter is that our heating bills are significantly lower. :-)

Wow. We've never seen a 5-way tie for the Early Bird. I'm late for an 8am appointment, so this is for all of the above:

A literal stampede for that wiley ole' Bird this morning, eh?? One of the few times lately I've actually been able to be here at 8 in the morning.

I haven't been able to as much either, Capt. Things have come up that have to get done in the morning. Glad I made it today, though. That was fun!!

That's funny, Capt., I was thinking the exact same thing about Gormfrog and Groundhog Day, when I read the 'tribute' this morning.
Two brilliant minds working off the same idea, eh?

My family has always "celebrated" Groundhog Day ... a special day perhaps more appreciated in the snowier climes ... a resident groundhog at my parents' home in the UP some years ago was affectionately named "Harold" ... Gormfrog definitely has the right idea ... thank you for expanding our horizons, Gormfrog!! ;-)

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with celebrating Groundhog Day; I'll look for any excuse to throw a party.....

I forgot, is it 'there will be 6 more weeks of winter if he sees his shadow' or if he doesn't. I'm ready to say goodbye to winter, even though it's not been bad down here....so far.

...no complaints in SE-MI either.

I guess if he sees his shadow there's 6 more weeks of winter. If he doesn't see it, there'll be a month and a half of winter. ??? :o)
