Most of the time when you think about the color of winter, the hue that predominantly comes to mind, is white. Brian and Shawn Malone snapped a photo that displays a number of other colors to be found amongst the U.P. white during the winter months. Vivid blue sky, wispy gray branches, olive green needles, dusty rose bushes... sounds like a box of crayons, not a beautiful winter scene UP North! Just another of the treasures to be found when you head off the traveled highways and trek into the back country.

Today's shot could pass for a live webcam. This is exactly how it looks this morning here in the Keweenaw.

WOW. The Malone's have captured a gorgeous and inviting winter scene and Mary's narrative would be the pride of any Chamber of Commerce. Great job everyone.

Wow, this pic definately makes me homesick. Feeling an urge to strap on the snowshoes and go for a hike in the UP :)

Hi
It's pretty and snowy downstate right now, too. It snowed all day yesterday, wet snow that coated all the trees and shrubs. This morning driving into work the full moon was shining on some snow-covered pines--gorgeous.
