So, if you take your pooch to a park that requires them to be on a leash, but have them tucked away in a stroller like these two pampered pets, are you breaking the rules? Looks like Z-Man caught these two cuties taking their master out for a walk, since neither of them have their paws on the pavement. They look pretty intent on having spied something of interest, making me wonder if they are belted in, so they don't bolt after something for a good chase!

If you haven't stopped by Z-man's Guest Album lately, he's got some neat shots from Pasty Fest a couple of weeks ago, including several of the Pasty Central staff. There are also several new Pasty Camists from around the U.P. in the Guest Gallery, now with over 21,500 photos. If you took just 10 seconds to look at each one, it would only take you until next Tuesday morning to finish!

Only two weeks and home we shall be! The weather looks great this summer as compared to last year.

Great picture. A dog picture is a Can't Miss!!

By the way, what's up at the airport. The webcam picture looks like they have an area taped off with people cleaning up the tarmac. No problems, I hope.

HoCo Airport
Would you believe, this group of enthusiastic painters are creating a big ROSE on the runway?? More about it on tomorrow's Shoebox Memory

Love Dogs from my pampered Chawawa to the neighbors Great Dane.
I realy like it when the local's from the Houghton area let us Miss Placed Yooper's know whats happening, like with the Lift Bridge the other day.Holly Wah eh thanks, they must be praticing incase of a emergency at the Airport?

By elm on Saturday, July 16, 2005 - 09:03 am:

Love the dogs. They are having a fly in at the airport to dedicate the Rose Compass that has been painted on the runway by private pilots from all over, not to sure where they are all from, but they have done this at other airports. I think they call themselves 99's. May also involve the blessing of the planes. If someone else has more info feel free to correct me. The Gazette had something in the paper a few times.

What precious little dogs. They make my dogs look like horses. Thanks Z-Man.

If you look at the Daily Mining Gazette online they have a story about the airport this weekend. Three more days till a week in the greatest place on earth.

When my husband and I take our two Scottish Terrier boys along, they travel in a little red wagon decked out with the wooden side-boards! And when it's a bicycle trip, the boys ride in their little bike trailer that most people use for their kids. Now that my hubby has finished his restoration on our '77 Ford Pinto, the boys ride in the back since the rear seat folds down..now that's the cat's meow! Oh what one does do to make a pet(s) life grand!

It's my dogs. As lazy as they are here, how'd they ever get from TX to UP overnight.

He took the grand shot at the Pasty Fest a couple of weekends ago in Calumet. We had a grand time there. It was fun for all. Will do it again and again.

How can dogs made out of snow stay intact in this sweltering weather?

By knitter on Saturday, July 16, 2005 - 03:38 pm:

Now is that a rose or a thimbleberry?

By Flyin da Mooney on Saturday, July 16, 2005 - 09:03 pm:

The 99's are an old and established flying organization and they host a lot of aviation events. I have heard of the blessing of the motorcycles in New Hampshire, but never the blessing of the planes. I do however say a little prayer which could be construed as a blessing each time I point my little plane up...

By elm on Saturday, July 16, 2005 - 10:47 pm:

Flyin-Good idea to say a little prayer everytime you point your little plane up. We have the blessing of pets here in the Keweenaw. Looks like the little guys in the picture have been blessed with good people to take care of them.

By Flyin da Mooney on Sunday, July 17, 2005 - 10:04 am:

Looks like they are having fun at the airport this morning. I should have gotten up a little earlier and made the trip. Remmants of the hurricane around here for wet and wild weather. Enjoy your pancakes at CMX.

By Lee, Mi. on Sunday, July 17, 2005 - 02:38 pm:
