Jodi Corrigan recently made a visit to what she calls "the farm" and she brought back some beautiful Autumn shots, starting with the typical farm fair you normally see...a brilliant red barn and an old farm implement. Her field photo stands out for me, with the beautiful colors, all around the green expanse (those are two of her kids running off in the distance). Same for the tree lined trail, with one side mostly pines and the other side a variety of colorfully decorated trees. But the crowning glory is most definitely the brilliant colors, against the backdrop of the perfectly blue sky, she captured in the last photo. The Keweenaw colors don't get much better than this folks. :->

Beautiful fall pics, Jodi! Especially "the barn", appropriately titled "fall barn". Thank you.

Some more beautiful photos of color! The top one (barn) would make a very interesting painting......Mskatie? ;)
Feeling very sad this morning after reading Sharon's journal...lost her little pal "Buster" yesterday. My heart aches for you, Sharon!

Having just admired the 'photos of color' UP there, I went to the webcams in Wyoming....in some parts there is "white" this morning. Of course that's not unusual....in Sept. 1985, woke up in Jackson Hole with 10" of snow!

True, Shirly. I couldn't sleep about 2 AM and was catching up on pasty when I read about Buster. So sorry about that hole in her life. I know how much a critter can work into ones life. Now maybe Jasmine will be cosier to her I hope. I too thought what a neat painting that barn could make. I love old barns and buildings. They have so much history and character.

Every Autumn I get so jealous of you luck guys and gals that live in the UP!
Actually it's all year 'round but especially in the Fall!

By Greta Jones (Urbanescapees) on Saturday, October 8, 2011 - 04:16 pm:

Sharon,
I want to express my deep sympathy for your loss...your dear Buster. I know how hard it is to lose a dear pet, and what a hole it leaves in life. Hopefully Jasmine will become your best buddy with time. Buster is now out of his misery, and resting in peace. Hang in there. Best wishes to you.
Nice photos today.

Did anyone know that the poem "Footprints in the Sand " Is really an updated 23rd psalm. Our minister who is Canadien had to point that out and especially that the writer was Canadien. I as a veterinarian have the "footprints in the sand in exam rooms as it pertains to the loss of of our special friends.

That's touching, Stewart. Thank you for choosing that profession and taking care of our little friends!

Residents of the U.P. seem by nature generous and ingenuous people, sincerely concerned that you receive a good impression of their environment they call home. Thus these Autumn scenes...

Nice pictures!! I saw a lot of that today on trip around the Keweenaw!! Some of the colors were amazing, some were a little more dull, and some trees actually were completely green yet.

Sharon, so sorry about your loss. I know how very hard that is. Our pets become a part of our families. My condolences to you.
