Only a few more days in Yooperland. The weather has been grand! But wait, don't despair, there's hope in the air, with fall colors I return, free from care. (OK, I didn't claim to be a poet but the the U.P. has me feeling like one!)

Congrats Nancy; you're a poet and didn't even know it!! Actually, you are very close to having a limerick written.

We too will return to the Keweenaw this fall, but by then I'm guessing most of the colour will be gone. Still, we will take in a Husky hockey game in October which will make the trip from the Twin Cities worth it.

Capt...will you and the Dr. be traveling I-380 N. through Cedar Rapids, Ia. en-route to the Twin Cities?

Probably not, I-35 would be the best route...just wishful thinking if you two came through Cedar Rapids, maybe a chance to meet you.....

I still say..God's got some great photography now!

Most of the limericks I know mention the town of Nantucket. But the following "poems" are two of my Dad's favorites:

The shortest poem in the world, titled "Fleas" : Adam had'em.

The Unknown Poet: He was a poet, and didn't know it. But his feet showed it, since they were such Longfellows.

Ms.Donna, Doing well thanks, all fluids Monday and Tuesday weren't much fun,lol. Today I get on to soft foods for the rest of the week, Im starving too! Thanks for the concern.

Unfortunately Janie, we do cruise on up 35 all the way to the Cities which takes us through central Iowa. Maybe someday we'll slip over to Cedar Rapids for a visit.....

And, for a great example of a limerick:

The first line still seems a bit of a challenge, though. — But I'm no expert.

I really like it as "I'm from a place called Keweenaw". I think it sounds good as a first line. And maija, that was great too. That was fun:)
