Recently, Taana Kalliainen took to the road and headed toward Marquette. Along the way, she snapped some photos of a snowy US 41 and the trees that line it. What a scene this makes with the blue of the sky, just peeking out from behind the clouds and the trees over laden with fluffy white snow. Taana said these were taken just past the Covington junction and I'm guessing that passing by scenery like this made her drive go by quickly. Just in case you're wondering, Taana practiced safe driving and didn't capture any of these shots while behind the wheel.

Hi
Oh, does that look gorgeous, particularly the second picture.

Although I've never been in the UP of Michigan (except to the Locks), I said to myself when I saw the 3rd photo...."Yep, that's Michigan!" Looks like some of the roads we've travelled in the LP. Pretty!!

These were all taken with my phone! Pretty crazy, the advancements in technology.

Thanks Mary!

The first two look like a cover of a card that when you open it, says, "Merry Christmas from the Copper Country" Beautiful !!!

All of these pictures are gorgeous! I especially
like the first one. The sunlight on the trees makes
the snow so white and beautiful against the blue
sky.

I love being up in the U.P. on days like the ones in the pictures! Snowshoeing through the woods, or driving down the road -- it doesn't get too much more serene or beautiful up there with a thick blanket of sparkly snow!

Wish I could click my heels and be up there!

Perchance anyone's interested, that stretch of US 41, between Alberta and Michigamme, is the highest in elevation of any numbered state or federal hwy in Michigan...and Covington Jct is almost in the middle of it. The actual highest point on US 41 is the rr overpass at Nestoria.

Beautiful captures Taana, interesting facts James.
