Slow Monday in PastyLand, or what??

By Yooperguide (Huntandfish) on Monday, August 23, 2010 - 03:10 pm:

Not a slow day Capt., a show day. Beautiful day in the UP. Went to Bob Lake today, tranquil place. Peaceful and serene lake. So much to do and so much to see, best part, it's free.

Yooperguide, think you are right. Most folks up this way are probably outside, leaving their computers alone indoors. Henry David Thoreau once wrote (he wrote a lot of things actually): "Undoubtedly, all men are not equally fit subjects for civilization; and because the majority, like dogs and sheep, are tame by inherited disposition, this is no reason why the others should have their natures broken that they may be reduced to the same level." We are in for a quick glass of tea, but heading back outdoors....hope it is a long day!

I have been talking to my three brothers all about their week long trip last week around Lake Michigan by motorcycle. Their version of "Wild Hogs" lol! They all agreed the most exhilarating part of the trip was crossing the Mac. I told them in order to really do a memorable motorcycle ride to do it around Lake Superior. Next summer that maybe in the works!

Great pictures.

Unfortunitely, I'm relegated to the indoors; one step outside and it feels like someone slaps you with a wet towel!!

Janie T.: I did the trip around Lake Superior by motorcycle more years ago than I care to admit. Beautiful ride, about 1400 miles.

I told my brothers from the begining they should travel around Lake Superior, perhaps they are savig the best trip for later. Hubby and I have been around about 70% of Lake Superior by car, motorcycle, snowmobile and atv's. It's a glorious Lake!

Daveofmohawk, I'm betting that ride isn't quite as beautiful as it used to be. The trees have totally blocked the sight of the lake in so many places, Even in the Keweenaw and the smaller lakes. I really wish they'd recycle some of those trees so we'd get to see the beauty of the lakes again.
