It's Flag Day, so if you don't already have your American Flag proudly displayed, stop reading and go do it now, we'll wait for you to get back...

That's better. Today is the day our country commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States. It's not an official federal holiday, but one we should still observe by flying our flags, like the one in the top photo from Max and Sally Smith, with the Portage Lift Bridge as a background. I found the second flag photo in Kelly Rintala White's album and couldn't resist adding it today, since it is a flag and it does have stars and stripes on it. It's quite unique with the U.P. map and the wording: "American by Choice - Yooper by Da Grace of God!" :->

The Bridge photo reminded me that I wanted to give everyone a "heads up" for Bridgefest activities that will be taking place this coming weekend, June 18th thru the 20th, in Houghton and Hancock. I've seen flags like that at Lanse Health Mart, and I'd sure assume there's some at Da Yooper's Tourist Trap....

I put my Flag on display before I left for work this morning. That Yooper flag is cool.
