As I've been doing "Day in History" for the last couple of months, I've had some help along the way from individuals such as authors Bill Haller and Larry Chabot. It has been fascinating to see simple historical facts that they bring to my attention, and to find a U.P. connection that we've never noticed before. Wednesday's Day in History is a good example, noting that Frank Lloyd Wright died on this day, but also pointing out that 2 of his famous homes were built in the U.P.

We would like to invite U.P. individuals or organizations (local historical society, township or county government, private business, etc.) to participate in Pasty Central's "Day in History", by suggesting events to highlight, and/or relevant pictures for upcoming dates. Email ideas to dih@pasty.net, and we'll recognize you or your organization for enhancing this minute-a-day which has become a regular part of our line-up.

Good morning y'all from the bottom floor of the General Office Building in the State's Secondary Complex outside Lansing...woo hoo! It feels like we've skipped spring and summer and moved right on to fall. :-\

We were recently in Lakeland, Florida and visited Florida Southern College. They have many buildings on campus designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. I bet a lot of people up north don't know about them.

Here is a link to my slideshow.

Frank Lloyd Wright? Didn't he event the hotdog wrapped "wright" in foil?

Sure don't live UP north, yet, but I love Franks, especially when they're done Wright.
