Next door to the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse you will find this unique gift shop. Say hi to Ann Kipfer when you stop in. I have one of her "Keweenaw Lights" mouse pads right here on my desk.

Good morning!

Good Morning, the end of year picnic is today for my sons school. So avoid Hudson Mills if you want a quiet getaway! His teacher is retiring and they are doing her goodbyes also (she was my brothers 1st grade teacher too). They can't wait for tuesday being the last day.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 08:08 am:

Good morning!!

I heard a rumor in the office this morning that today is Friday. I as of yet haven't confirmed this, but if it's true, WOOHOO (as I hear Todd Rundgren's "Bang on the Drum" going through my head)......

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 08:27 am:

Good Morning, Everyone! Happy Friday!

Congratulations on your Early Bird, Deb.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 08:32 am:

Yes, Paul, its friday. Here that means Jean day, I think better in jeans and am generally happier.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 08:43 am:

Jeans are the uniform of the day here too. This was the longest week! I woke up in exactly the same spot I fell asleep last night. It was really tough to crawl out of bed this morning and come to work. Reminds of the Dolly Parton song..."Tumble outta bed and stumble to the kitchen, pour myself a cup of ambition, yawn and stretch and try to come to life. Jump in the shower, blood starts pumping, out on the street traffic start jumping, and folks like me on the job from 9 to 5..."

Good morning! I love going to that gift shop!

By Lorelei (Lorelei) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 10:13 am:

It's the last day of school at Jeffers today. I would imagine there are a bunch of WooHoo's there today, from the students to the staff.

Can't complain too much when you have a job that pays you to surf the internet.......:)

By Janet Boatman (Janetnwohio) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 12:04 pm:

Bob thank you for the pictures they are great pictures.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 01:31 pm:

Hey Bob, you wouldn't have been sitting on the Houghton waterfront after a GSA softball game now, would you?? ;-)

Every day is jean day here. This office has a very relaxed dress code, mostly becuase we never know when we'll have to run out in the field for an investigation...

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 01:55 pm:

My job also requires quite a bit of work in the field at construction sites. The guys in the ties that make the rules don't seem to think we should be in jeans daily for some reason. Measuring a rough opening upstairs in a building that has no stairway yet can get quite interesting when in girl shoes. Top that all off with my hardhat and its quite a picture.

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 02:05 pm:

FJL...got up on the wrong side of the bed? :) Me thinks there are many others who work near computers who sneak a peek too, hey? Cheer up fella.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 02:07 pm:

I say it's only fair that the guys in ties should take a turn at field measuring in girl shoes and a skirt. The guys in ties probably like to see your legs when you wear girl shoes.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 02:53 pm:

I hope you are at least wearing flats & slacks, Brooke! Girl shoes don't have to be 3" heels. :-)

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 04:02 pm:

Yes on the slacks, I hate skirts. But not always flats, some heel since its hard to find flats anymore. To me if they are not tennis shoes or boots they are girl shoes (anything uncomfortable or can cause me immediate death on a jobsite).

By Happy to be in the U.P. (Lahelo) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 04:38 pm:

Great picture, it is now my background on my computer!

By FJL (Langoman) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 04:39 pm:

Hey Mskatie, a little tongue in cheek once in awhile gets noticed wouldn't you say..... And as for being cheerful, its my nature....... enjoy...

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 05:52 pm:

FJL...just joshin'. Friends? Cheerful is our nature hey? Hope you have a good weekend.

By FJL (Langoman) on Friday, June 8, 2007 - 05:56 pm:

Same to you Mskatie, roger, willco and out.......
