All our photos today involve water...in different forms, but all about water. We start out back in 2006, with a photo from Joyce Tormala. She captured these wild roses against the backdrop of calm water, kind of a contradictory photograph, showing the wild and the calm, which with Lake Superior, we know can change in any given moment.

Next, we go with Kevin Henriksen to watch the Isle Royale Queen IV arrive at Rock Harbor in Isle Royale, back in 2009. The ride across Lake Superior on the Queen takes a little over 3 hours, depending on the weather of course. If you’re lucky, the lake will be calm and the ride will be smooth.

Jump ahead to 2014, with a shot from Dorothy Jamison, who stopped by the Aspirus Keweenaw Cancer Crusader booth, where George Twardzik, High School Principal at CLK Schools, was a good sport sitting and waiting for folks to soak him by throwing a ball to hit the target and release the overhead rush of cold water. On a normal hot summer day, this would be an easy activity to be in, but when it's rainy and 48°, it takes a hearty soul to participate. Fun with water…

The fourth photo is a beauty from Sharon Bodenus. The early morning mist rising from the water and the dew in the air highlighting all those spider webs makes for an interesting shot for sure. And... if you don’t like spiders, this is the best way to view a unique scene like this.

Our video feature is taking us to view Copper Harbor from above with a drone. We even get to fly over the Isle Royale Queen with the Eagle Eye Drone Service, who also said that Copper Harbor is “...where the road ends and adventure begins.” Enjoy the ride!

I have always been a fan of the Isle Royale Queen. The Queen IV in todays pictures is nicest Queen so far. I started riding way back when it was the Queen II, before she was lengthened into the Queen III. The Queen II was also famously and affectionately known as the Barf Barge (it seemed to bob around like a cork). I also enjoy the response the Queen receives by the staff at the Harbor Haus Restaurant upon arrival in Copper Harbor. From this picture you can see the staff performing a "kick line" dance and ringing their bell.

Great pix and the video was a mini-vacation for me..."Thank You". I wish I could still make the journey, "Scotty...beam me UP!"

More positive uses for drones are shown today. An eagle's view of Copper Harbor. How nice....
