It's a boating kind of day here on the Pasty Cam, both in the archives and in present time. Starting out with a shot shared back in 2006, by E. Neil Harri, the boating begins. That's the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter, Alder off to the right of the Eagle Harbor lighthouse, on its late fall mission of lifting the Eagle Harbor marker buoy for the winter months.

Our next voyage takes us out on Lake Superior with not one, but two vessels and was snapped in 2008, by Steve Kyllonen. One is of course a freighter, busily hauling its load across Lake Superior, while the other one is a fishing boat named Spirit. Check out all those seagulls hovering over it, just hoping for a chance at some of the fish they've hauled aboard.

Number three on our boating list is way off in the distance, in a view near Sault Ste. Marie. Cindy Freeman takes us to Mission Hills cemetery overlook back in 2010, near the community of Bay Mills, for a view of Spectacle Lake and Lake Superior out beyond that. You can just see the freighter, American Integrity out there on the Big Lake.

Last, but not least, Brenda Leigh snapped this "sunset sailing" shot of the Roger Blough earlier this week as it was passing by on Lake Superior. Brenda said it was pretty cool with the sun shining on it like that, making it all aglow and at one point, like it was on fire.

Freighters, Cutters, Fishing boats…so many boats to watch, so little time. If you have about 2 ˝ minutes to spare, you can watch the Roger Blough pass by as she enters the Neebish Island Rock Cut near Barbeau on the St. Mary's River. Video by Dan Vaught in 2016.

The picture of the Roger Blough all aglow is outstanding.
Judging by the escort of seagulls the fishermen had a successful haul.

Hi
Right before I checked out this day's PastyCam I changed my wallpaper to a picture of a freighter in golden light with "sea smoke".
