In 2010 you can see a window of my old apartment.
It's on the right just adjacent to the two tone
brick chimney. The top bricks in white were
replacements after the wind toppled a much taller
chimney on November 10, 1975. . . the fateful day
the Edmund Fitzgerald sank.

Absolutely love the whole 3rd row of pictures!!!

Have a great HUMP DAY, everybody!! Supposed to
start warming up again. You'd swear it's late
September lately.

They're all good but I think the Big Mac and Star Line ferry is my favorite. Reminds me of familiar sights every Autumn when we'd go on vacation to MI. Ah...memories!!

That old (click → Covington Depot (2002) is one of my favorite "Shoebox Memories".

It takes me right back to the late 1940s & early 1950s, riding the old coal burner DSS&A RR (a.k.a. "Dust Sand Soot & Ashes" or "D*** Slow Service & Abuse") between St. Iggy and Bruce Crossing (or to Kenton after passenger service to Bruce Crossing was terminated) I can still smell the coal smoke and creosote!

The last 50 miles — (we're almost there!) Nestoria, Covington, Sidnaw, Kenton, Paynesville and finally Bruce Crossing: The railroad depots pretty much all looked the same, tho' most, unlike Covington, were single-story buildings.
