If you have a photo or two or three that you would like to share please send electronic copies to me and I will be happy to display them here. If you don't have access to a scanner and would still like to have your photos displayed here just send me a note and we will work it out. Bruce's family lived in Painesdale and shares some of his fine photos here. Bruce has also promised to send along a layout of the CR office building (room by room and floor by floor), hope to post that as well. a nice winter time photo of Champion #3 and #2 taken in 1922-23. Champion #4 is just off the photo to the left. In front of #4 in what looks like a water tower, is in fact a hoist cable diverter (for lack of a better name) used on Champion #4.

Soo Line GP-40 #733 drifts along with a "full load" at the Qunicy smelter, down from Lake Linden, passing a ghost of the Copper Country.   Again this month from Bruce Groeneveld we remember back to the days when at least something was running north of the bridge.
The ghost in question is Copper Range Consolidation #29 (just off to the right) and she is about to get a second life and rise from the dead. The month of April 2004 is especially important as it marks the month in which Mid-Continent Railway Museum must raise the funds necessary to start #29 on the road to recovery. Help them reunite her with #25 and #60 at North Freedom. Send in your donation soon to add your support.
